Find your container

Container AC, Climate Control & Reefer Options

Start with the environment you need inside the container. Cooling an office, managing storage conditions, and holding products at a specified refrigerated temperature are different requirements. Florida Container can discuss AC, climate-control, and reefer requests around your intended use. Share the contents, target conditions, location, and available power so the appropriate scope can be reviewed before a unit is selected.

Separate comfort cooling from product storage

For an office or occupied workspace, the conversation begins with the layout, number of occupants, use pattern, and interior finishes. Insulation, ventilation, electrical supply, and the cooling equipment need to work as part of the overall project. An AC unit alone is not a complete specification for the room.

For stored materials, explain what conditions they require and who has established those requirements. Temperature-sensitive goods may also depend on humidity, air movement, cleanliness, monitoring, and operating procedures. Describe the actual requirement rather than simply asking for a cold container.

Define the requirement for a reefer

A refrigerated container request should identify the product, operating temperature, loading frequency, and expected use. Ask for the exact equipment specification, condition, power requirements, and performance information for any proposed unit. Previous use and maintenance information may also be relevant.

Do not treat a container fitted with ordinary air conditioning as an equivalent to a purpose-specified refrigerated space. Food, medicines, and other regulated or sensitive products require their own suitability assessment and operating controls; a general website description cannot establish that suitability.

  • Describe the contents or occupied use.
  • Provide target temperature and any humidity requirements.
  • Explain loading frequency and operating hours.
  • Identify available electrical service and site conditions.

Plan the shell and equipment together

Door openings, insulation, interior finishes, and equipment placement affect the layout. Discuss how often doors will open, whether people work inside, and how the space will be cleaned and maintained. These details help establish a realistic proposal for the intended operation.

The site also matters. Confirm where electrical work, equipment installation, drainage, and ongoing maintenance fit into the project. The written scope should identify the responsibilities included with the container and those needing separate arrangements.

Request an application-specific proposal

Send the delivery location and a short description of how the container will operate. Include the required conditions and any supporting product-storage specifications you already have. The team can then review available options and quote an appropriate scope. Confirm performance requirements in writing before using a unit for sensitive contents.

A few things worth knowing

Is an air-conditioned container the same as a reefer?

No. Comfort cooling and refrigerated product storage are different applications. Specify the required operating conditions and confirm the equipment and suitability of the proposed unit.

Can I store food or temperature-sensitive products?

Provide the product requirements first. Suitability depends on the complete container, equipment, surfaces, monitoring, sanitation, and operating arrangements. It must be assessed for that application rather than inferred from the presence of cooling.

What information is needed for a climate-control quote?

Describe the use, contents or occupancy, target conditions, door-opening pattern, power supply, and delivery address. Add any required monitoring or other performance criteria so they can be addressed in the proposal.

What will you make room for?

Tell us what you need and where it’s going. We’ll help you plan the next step.
